Answers to some of our frequently asked questions in relation to bookings, getting in touch and COVID March 2022

Our Vegan Ranges

At Eden, we have taken extra special care to select the products we use and stock. Not all our ranges are vegan, however we do have a strict requirement that all our ranges:

We basically check that the brands we choose to affiliate with hold the same values as us and generally give a damn about their ingredients and the impact those ingredients and their practices have on the places or communities they are sourced from, and that they consider the environment.

Our core ranges that include vegan products are:

Kitoko – which is our primary colour range and we also stock a lot of their retail products. The entire Kitoko range is 100% vegan. This includes all their colour and all their products which are also all sulphate and paraben free.

KEVIN MURPHY – When searching the world for ingredients, KEVIN.MURPHY looked for companies that use micro cultivation, organic growing practices, or ecologically sound wild harvesting techniques to ensure the KEVIN.MURPHY range is of the very highest natural quality. All KEVIN.MURPHY hair products are sulphate free, paraben free and cruelty free. Kevin Murphy also have a great range of vegan products available, which we have a list of in salon.

Paul Mitchell – Paul Mitchell has a philosophy of giving back and caring. They are 100% cruelty free, and contribute to a range of environmental initiatives, including Reforest’Action, Waterkeeper Alliance and the Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Farm just to name a few. Some of their ranges do have a sheep’s wool protein (ethically sourced from New Zealand) and others also have bees wax base, however of their ranges, the famous Tea Tree range which we stock is 100% vegan, and uses tea-tree sourced from Australian farms based in north New South Wales!

Dilkara Essence of Australia – while some of the products within the Dilkara range include a natural honey fragrance, none of the styling products stocked at Eden include that ingredient and are all vegan. Dilkara is a beautiful range made by Canberra based hairdresser Julie Oakley who is of indigenous heritage- a proud Kamilaroi woman.

Key ingredients for Dilkara Essence of Australia have been sourced from local Indigenous communities. Julie has chosen to work with these groups to assist them achieve their business success, and because she knows of the integrity and care that has been taken to grow and harvest these native elements.

Some of the native ingredients used in the Dilkara range include:

If you are looking for a vegan mascara we also happen to stock the BEST vegan mascara and basically best mascara in general, from Silk Oil of Morocco. The reason we stock this product is because I have the most sensitive eyes in the world and this is the ONLY mascara I can use. Since stocking it I have put countless clients onto it who will also never turn back!

We will keep you posted also about another vegan make-up range that we are in the process of testing and hoping to bring you soon which offers totally vegan and natural foundation, mineral powders, concealers, eyeshadows and more!

We are always on the hunt for new ranges and products that we can experiment with and decide whether they are worthy of our awesome Eden guests. If there is something you know of that sits within this family that you would like to see at Eden, please let us know, we would love to hear from you!

Can I make an appointment?

Since August 2021 our online booking has been disabled. This is because we are now operating with a much smaller team and as a result are still experiencing limited appointment availability.

You can however make a booking by emailing (preferred) or calling us on 6262 8948 – our reception hours are 9:00 – 5:30 weekdays and Saturday 9:30 – 3:30.

We hope to turn online booking back on as soon as possible.

While we may not be able to make a booking until further in the future than what you’d like, we are experiencing cancellations daily now due to people being impacted by COVID. We have a cancellation list which we update every day, so it is worth being on the list as we are likely to be able to get you in sooner than your appointment if you wish.

Why haven’t I been able to get through to you on the phone?

Due to the forced closure for over 9 weeks between August and October 2021, we have just one person dedicated to our phones for both Eden and Canberra Hair Extensions. The phone has been ringing hot and we are often unable to take all phone calls. If our receptionist is away from the desk our stylists generally cannot take calls as they are booked back-to-back with clients. If you can’t get through on the phone, email is best. Please email all enquiries to

Has Canberra Hair Extensions moved?

As of October 2021, we have closed our Badham Street location and moved Canberra Hair Extensions to our DKSN salon – g2/19 Challis Street Dickson. You can visit Eden Hair Energy and Canberra Hair Extensions to find a huge range of clip in and permanent hair extension products.

What is the best way to know if there is a cancellation?

If you haven’t been able to get a booking at the time you’d like, the best thing to do is be on our cancellation list. If something pops up at a time you’ve requested we will be in touch as soon as possible – please note if we leave a voicemail or email we will not hold the appointment so if you can get back to us or even better take our call we will have a much better chance of getting you in.

When we have cancellations on the same day as the appointment we will both contact those on our cancellation list and advertise it on our Instagram stories – @edenhairenergy and @canberrahairextensions.

If you want an appointment short notice it is always worth checking in to see if we have had a cancellation – you just never know. Worst case we will find an alternative time for you or add you to our cancellation list

How far in advance should I book?

Many of our regulars book 6 – 12 months of appointments in advance – hence our limited availability coming out of lockdown. If you would like to book in for 2022 please let us know and we can arrange a time for you.
As always, afternoon/evening and weekend appointments are high in demand, so if you would like to secure your spot do get in touch.
Appointments booked far in advance may be subject to change as our team may wish to take holidays or their roster may change, however our highest priority is always to those guests who have committed to us long term so we will always find an alternative appointment at a suitable time if changes are required.
